about

Dub music and Obeah art has constantly clashed with industrial rock, postpunk, tribal & metal. The sounds of Killing Joke, Mark Stewart & The Maffia, Tackhead & Adrian Sherwood, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Alien Sex Fiend, Meat Beat Manifesto, Pop Will Eat Itself and their concepts have been a longtime inspiration to Obeah.

Following the footsteps of his much missed mentor Mark Stewart who remixed The Membranes Space Junk back in 2016, Obeah has now collaborated with the Manchester cult postpunkers led by Dr. John Robb by dubbing their 2019 single Nocturnal from their What Nature Gives...Nature Takes Away LP.

We live in a Remix contemporary culture and Obeah inspired by the Jamaican dub tradition has taken the Membranes to Transylvania!
